08/02 – Three Years In Hair

I posted these photos to Instagram last night and they would make a nice talking point for today’s diary entry. The above are the various hairstyles I’ve sported during my time on YouTube.. We’re only talking 3 years so you can imagine how much wilder it was when I was a teen! I love being brunette but when I’m bare faced it washes me out terribly, I’m fairly pale as it is but super dark hair really does nothing for me unless I have a full face of makeup. I wish I suited red hair but I really don’t and even blonde is a little bit much so I’ve settled at a more natural highlighted shade that’s easy to maintain and generally looks better with my skin tone. Cut wise I’m working towards a shoulder length kind of long bob. Not too much in the way of layers, long enough that extensions will blend if I want length and short enough that it doesn’t take hours to do every day. It’s a universally flattering style so that’s my plan.

What have been your craziest hairstyles?

I think you suit both brunette and blonde, I especially love the second picture with the flash of colour. I have tried all colours but my hair rebels badly now so I tend to stick to light brown having been a very light blonde most of my life, bleaching is way to harsh on my hair now I’m getting older. Red is a big no no its so hard to get right, unless done proffessionaly, but we live and learn, its what life is all about.

    Hi Miss BB,

I’ve never had really crazy hair ’cause I’m pretty pale although I’m warmer toned so can get away with slightly darker hair (mine is dark brown). Because I have a round and broad face, it’s actually pretty difficult to find a hairstyle that works. I have naturally wavy hair which is half way down my back, and which I maintain with coconut oil. I can’t recommend it enough as a hair conditioner.

I think it’s great that you can pull off different styles but I really like your latest hairstyle. It really suits you and you look youthful and radiant with the hair off your face.

You look so different with a fringe! I think you can rock the red hair actually – I like it on you! That one, now, and the one from your wedding are my favorites I think! Strange as they’re all different colours!

I’m sure you have your own favorite styles but here are my (a total stranger who just discovered your blog and loves it, so take it for what you will) favorite looks for you: light brown (bottom row, second one from the left) and your current hair (blonde with lowlights of your natural hair color). I also really liked the pink dip-dyed look. Thanks for all the great posts!
