Today I went a little heavy on everything.. I’ve been testing out various products for review and since I was already photographing my makeup I thought I’d kill 3 or 4 other birds at the same time.. this led to a bit too much makeup for a Thursday morning when the postman arrived but hey.. I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m a crazy shopaholic with all the parcels he delivers. I wanted to do something purple today and I decided to incorporate the shimmery candy pink/lilac shades that I thought I’d get no use from whatsoever. I used those to highlight my lid and went in with a vibrant pink/purple in my crease. I pretty much left it at that, a colourful but not to dark/smokey look that I actually really enjoyed wearing. I’m so glad I’ve done this little series as it’s opened my eyes (pardon the pun) to the different colours that might actually suit me. Purple is on that list for sure!
For the rest of my face.. all week I’ve been wearing the Covergirl Outlast foundation but today I have on Seventeen Stay Time.. review to come. It’s much higher coverage and longer wearing but the finish and application is not as nice.. would depend on your skin and what you’re used to of course. I definitely overdid it on the cheek products, the Revlon Skinlights liquid bronzer/illuminator is very cool but that was more than enough before I added the Naked Flushed to the mix. Under normal circumstances I love this trio (the shade I have is Streak) however I think the bronzer plus the blush can make for a slightly too warm look.. it’s an either or for me. I used a new mascara today too.. the So Couture by L’Oreal.. not sure about this yet so will review separately but it has the strangest scent.. almost like chocolate.. I don’t know if I’m imagining it but it’s ODD. Lastly another new item, Revlon Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion.. I really want to love these lip stains but honestly they’re just a bit rubbish… they’re fine as a lip gloss, non sticky etc but as a stain they’re just pants.. have any of you tried these yet? I just don’t ‘get’ them.
So that’s todays face.. again the palette I’m using is Makeup Geek by Makeup Revolution – available online here, a great value palette which has shown to be extremely versatile (with one day still to go) and great quality too
