12 Days Of Lipstick #12 – MAC New York Apple

I started preparing for this series in October so it’s a little baffling to me that it’s already over and there are but 13 days to go until Christmas. WEIRD!!! In the world of blogging Christmas starts much earlier and so when December finally hits it’s all a bit of an anti-climax.. like it’s already been and gone. As of today I’m going to make a concerted effort to get in to the holiday spirit and I think this lipstick is just the way to do it! Better still my post holidays holiday is to New York.. this lipstick will most certainly be coming with me!

It was on my list when I visited London last month but when I swatched it I decided the frost finish wasn’t for me.. a bit dated and although I loved the colour I thought the metallic look would put me off wearing it. Then my friend bought it.. isn’t that always the way? It looked awesome on her so I had to have it and I’m so glad I bought it in the end cause it’s just perfect for Christmas. It’s bright but the frost gives it a softer appearance and I guess it goes to show that you shouldn’t reply on first impressions!

Gorgeous color! I recently purchased Max Factor’s Mulberry lipstick, nr 685 which is quite similar to this one. Perfect for Christmas too 🙂

I adore this shade – rich and smooth and sexy, just like a good man. I know what you mean about Christmas, I kind of feel like I’ve already ‘done’ it, and an looking to spring trends to excite me.

I also swatched this in the MAC shop when I was looking for POW!lipstick shades and didn’t buy it because of the metallic sheen. Seeing it on, I regret it now. I got Relentlessly Red instead, which is an awesome bright cerise pink shade (yeah, not actually all that red as it happens). It’s in the retro matte finish – it’s worth trying if you don’t already have it.
