12 Days Of Lipstick #7 – Avon Red 2000

And we’re back to red.. POW. How amazing is that shine? If I didn’t know better I’d think I was wearing a gloss but let me assure you.. I am not, this lipstick is just THAT glossy. I will warn you that with great gloss comes great bleed-ability so a lipliner is definitely needed if you’re wearing this for ANY length of time but that’s a small price to pay possibly the ultimate glossy red lip.

The makeup look you see above is one I’ve created for Avon’s blog – see here – it’s a classic Christmas makeup tutorial and because the lipstick is so very bold and I wanted to keep is slick with just a little liquid liner I kept my cheeks bare and my face pale.. I think it makes the lipstick pop all the more against my pale skin. That being said I think this shade would work with darker skin tones too I just really like the pin up look you get with the contrast here. As far as wear time it’s really not too bad at all.. touch ups are necessary but given the finish I thought they’d be much more frequent. The packaging is nice too, the lid is clear so you can see the colour inside without opening it up if you’re rifling through your makeup and it feels quite expensive for a relatively inexpensive brand. If you’re looking for a pinker, slightly less RED colour I’d recommend Lava Love or Beyond Pink

Wow that is bright! It looks really nice on pale skin too. Sometimes bright colours just make pale skin look blue or grey haha

I love Lava Love.. it’s one of the best sellers here.. Hmm, I think as long as you have red lips, it doesn’t matter if you’re not wearing any make up at all.. It just looks good anyhow.
