12 Days Of Lipstick #8 – Lanolips Apples

IMG_0133

I have just arrived back from my weekend in Birmingham.. and logged on to my blog to discover I totally forgot to post a 12 days of lipstick day 8!! That was a close one but luckily unlike the last time I did a lipstick series I actually have to some photos ready this time for just such an occasion and so today I decided to share with you another more day time, less scary festive lip.. and bonus, this one is actually good for your pout too! I’m not a huge fan of the original lanolips lemonaid.. it’s a bit meh for me, okay but not groundbreaking but the lip tints are WAY nicer in my opinion and if you were considering a purchase I hope this post pushes you gently over the edge. They’re quite thick but not sticky, very much a balm and yet you can get quite a bit of colour from them. A great alternative to gloss in the winter (or summer – they do have spf after all) when you might be more interested in protecting your lips but are sick of them looking blue.

Apples is one that I don’t wear quite so often because in the tube it looks rather garish.. you can get it to a pretty deep colour but in reality you don’t need much and it can be worn sheer as you see in the pictures above.. I’m calling it my Christmas lip balm and I will be taking at least one of these tints with me to the freezing cold city of New York in January. Elizabeth Arden also does great tinted balms with the 8hr cream formula but I really dislike the scent and although the EA version is easier to apply (it’s in a lipstick bullet) I actually prefer these.. it’s just a happy coincidence that they’re cheaper!
