This is one of those colours that looks so different on everyone, it can look so purple but it’s much more raspberry on me, I think. Flat Out Fabulous was a lipstick I’d never even heard of before my friend (fellow lover of bright lipsticks) picked it out and it looked so good on her (although much brighter than on me) I knew I needed it. I love a good matte and MAC do some of my favourites.. dry enough to last a long time but creamy enough to still be comfortable to wear but I hadn’t tried much from their RETRO matte range, that’s what drove me to this purchase.. as well as another I’ll show you later in the month.
Much drier than the original formula but by extension more longwearing too. They’re a little tough to apply, not creamy in the least but once they’re on there you have the boldest, most opaque colour you could want. If you like highly saturated ‘POW’ lipsticks you will love these.. although the selection is very small so you have to take what you can get colour-wise. They do pick up every imperfection in the finish so wont be very forgiving if you have dry, flaky lips but if you like a REAL matte finish I’d highly recommen you check them out. If you pushed me I think I’d have to say Satin was my favourite finish for daily wear but for a night out or an occasion where I want staying power and a little extra oomph behind my lip colour the Retro Matte is spot on!
