Continuing my Avon theme today I am wearing a lipstick from their Shine Attract range. Unfortunately I can’t find a link for it online but I believe it’s in the current brochure, the products online seem to change often so if you’d prefer to buy that way I’d suggest you check back regularly.
So in the tube this looks pretty swish, doesn’t it? Far more expensive than it actually is and just a little bit futuristic for a beauty product. It reminds me a lot of the Dior Shine Addict lipsticks which have a halo of lipstick with a balm in the middle rather than the opposite with this – this is more the format of the new Benefit Fake Up concealer actually now I come to think of it.. must be the new ‘thing’ to do. Unfortunately because they’ve chosen a ring of balm on the outside rather than the inside it’s tricky to get the colour over the entire lips without smudging it out with your finger which isn’t ideal so that’s a bit of a let down but once it’s on I really like the sheer, glossy effect so I’ll forgive it.
It’s also very comfortable on the lips because of the balm so I can’t really see it as a negative but I do really wish they’d put it in the middle.. part of me wonders if they tried to do something different but it just didn’t work quite as well as they thought. Overall it’s a nice product and one of my favourites for summer because it gives that ‘ice lolly’ lip – translucent colour, dya know what I mean?
This is the first time you can properly see my darker hair here on my blog, what do you think? It usually fades pretty fast but I will keep topping it up while my roots are growing out, I’ve just been adding streaks of deeper blonde to the top section to help blend my roots with my blonde without going full on brunette and I think it’s working well.. hoping to grow it out to something of an ombre – low maintenance is the way forward, even if I am 2 years behind the trend.
