I know I’m not alone in being very excited to see these finally hit the UK.. however I do feel I’m in the minority when it comes to expectations for these super hyped balms. Some of the reviews I’ve read so far have torn them down for not being the answer to your every beauty woe when in fact all they are is lip balms. They’re reasonably priced, some are tinted, some offer sun protection and others like this just smell nice.
The packaging is cute and I love the selection available, this will definitely not be the only one I buy but let’s get real this is a basic essential that’s been put in a pretty tube for a cosmetics company – it’s nothing fancy but it’s nice. The hype we heard from US bloggers was overkill, I agree but honestly what did you expect them to be? Unlike an eyeshadow or blush that could promise to be a whole new world of beautiful once you apply it a £2.99 lip balm is only ever going to hydrate your lips, some are better than others but this aint half bad.
I know todays #30in30 isn’t a lipstick but it seemed silly to review it independently of the challenge and after all I had so much ranting to do I really did need to dedicate a post to what I think is a very nice lip balm for a very good price.. but nothing more (oh but it does smell lush!)
