Now I have sung the praises of these stains from L’Oreal in the past but this new addition to my collection proves there are hits and misses.. and I was so hopeful for this one!
I’ve mentioned previously that my main bug bear with this range of stains compared to the YSL is colour options but really it’s the fact that they change COMPLETELY once they’re dry. If you look at the colour in the tube and on the applicator below you’d expect this to be a pale lilac but once it sets it closer to a hot pink and NOTHING like you’d expect. For me this is the exact colour I wanted but someone else could be really disappointed by the change and it makes it very difficult to chose a colour in store even when swatching is available.
So that’s an annoyance I guess about the entire line but this in particular I found to be patchy and it really didn’t stay on. It took so long to get a good coverage and between application and these photos (less than 5 minutes) you can see a smudge on my bottom lip already. It was so terrible I couldn’t wear it out of the house and swapped it for the Lanolips balm I showed the other day – much better. All in all I can now see why there are some not so glowing reviews of these stains, if all you’ve ever tried is this I don’t blame you for disliking them but I would suggest you try something else before you write them off because this is definitely a bad example. Princess, Romy and Juliet are all great but I’d stay away from Eve
My hair’s a little darker here, what do you think?
