I feel like the #30in30 series has been MAC heavy this time around but upon checking I think Revlon might have had more action by the time the month is up.. you tell me. I’ve been kind of obsessing over MAC recently though and google is the absolute worst culprit. You start by looking up one shade and GOOGLE suggests 3 or 4 others you may like aswell.. before you know it that one lipstick is FIVE and you have as many again added to your wishlist for next time. Flamingo is one such discovery.. I was looking at Chatterbox as it seemed to tick all the mid tone pink boxes (God that’s getting monotonous now, isn’t it?) but GOOGLE was suggesting Flamingo which looks AMAZING in every swatched and I was quickly convinced that I needed. Unfortunately it turned out not to be a permanent shade so I put it out of my mind (well.. I hid it in a drawer), put Chatterbox in my cart and checked out.
Fast forward a week and the lovely people at MAC (enablers) sent me an email telling me a whole host of requestes shades were coming back.. top of the list? Flamingo? I bought it without hesitation.. of course I had to buy another so I got free shipping and said other was a HUGE mistake as it was a quick, un-googled purchase but that’s for another day. Back to the lipstick in hand.. now you know how and why I came to own it.. do I love it? Kinda no.. it was disappointing, lustres can be tricky and this isn’t one of the best, it’s sheer and a little streaky. In the initial swatch it looks good but between that shot and the full face below you can see it’s worn away on the inner lip and I’d not so much as touched a drink. It’s a gorgeous colour I just wish it was a cream sheen or an amplified so it packed a little punch and would stick around for more than 30 minutes. I’m not totally sure about it yet, I want to love it and I will definitely wear it but knowing it could be better when the colour is just so perfect is superficially painful!
Don’t you just hate when something is NEARLY perfect?
