#30in30 Makeup Revolution Sweetheart

Makeup Revolution Sweetheart

Two Sweethearts in this years series.. what are the chances? Two Sweethearts but two very different lip products, the first was a very bold pink stain, this one.. not so much. It’s not the best but it’s not the worst of the Makeup Revolution lipsticks I’ve tried so far. There’s not much colour to it but the colour that is there is even, it’s more like it was designed to be sheer rather than it’s streaky but should be opaque. It’s actually really quite nice, when I first applied it I was totally unimpressed because I was expecting something bolder but in hindsight it’s a nice wash of colour. If the product looked different in the bullet I would likely have felt differently initially, I think a lot of it comes down to perception and expectations. You judge something by how it looks and how you think it SHOULD perform when maybe we should just judge it on what it does rather than what we think is should.. do you know what I mean?

I really like this, I think it suits me, I think that because it’s sheer it’s an easier colour to wear.. it’s actually better than the alternative because an opaque version of the colour in the bullet might have been totally mad on me whereas I think I’ll actually wear this. As I’ve mentioned there’s an issue with the packaging with these lipsticks, the lids don’t click on properly so they’re not ideal for carrying in your handbag but a colour like this can wear away without worry of leaving an odd residue behind so I may potentially put this on in the morning when I want to leave the house full made up and then just top up with a balm throughout the day. Unfortunately it would have been a great sheer colour to keep in my bag but I could do without lipstick smeared all over the contents.

I love the lipstick but had exactly the same problem as you with the packaging! They definitely need to re-think that, though for £1.00 I guess we can’t complain too much 🙂 xo
