I don’t know if it’s the weather or my recent overdoing it with the matte lipsticks but my lips are crazy dry lately and they’re definitely not helping the review I’m going to give todays lipstick. It’s a classic matte which I usually like but it picks up every imperfection which I’m sure we can agree from the swatch is.. not pretty. Coupled wth the fact that it wore of my bottom lip faster than my top leaving me looking entirely bizarre at work before I noticed in the mirror at lunch.. this is not my favourite formula! I have a few more of the mattes from Milani so I will pick out another before this mini series ends to see whether they’re all alike but the wear time was poor, regardless of the not so excellent condition my lips were in. I’d give it a slight handicap for that but not enough to forgive the extreme patchiness I experienced within just a couple of hours.
It’s a shame really as the colour is great, a dark nude that’s not too warm is always up my street. It reminds me a lot of Velvet Teddy by MAC actually and once my lips are prepped and smooth again you may see a follow up where I pit them against each other but my first impressions of this weren’t good. The texture was easy to apply, the packaging is cute for a drugstore product and I really liked the finish (was it not for the flakes.. but that’s not the fault of the product) but overall it was a miss for me.
