#30in30 MUA Lip Switch Coral Pink

Okay I’m running a little behind on this challenge this time around so you might see a couple of double ups over the next few days to be sure I get in my 30! Why am I running so late? A series of unfortunate events from my SD card being smashed by a dancing toddler to my laptop refusing to connect to wifi *pulls hair out* but I’m keeping everything crossed that we’re firing on all cylinders again now! Todays lip is one I had expected to be basic so didn’t think I’d necessarily LOVE it (so I went in with pretty low expectations) but I REALLY didn’t love it. It’s dual ended (obviously) with a matte lipstick on one end and a lip gloss on the other. I initially thought it was a long wearing lacquer deal, a lipstick/top coat situation as this packaging style has been done to death in that format but this is a little different so you gotta give them that, I guess.

Now let’s have a show of hands.. who thinks I prefered the lipstick end? I mean it’s a MATTE lipstick.. you’d expect that, wouldn’t you? I’m SO not a gloss girl.. BUT this lipstick was AWFUL! So streaky and uneven.. the gloss actually SAVED it! I say that but I wore this to work and by 10am I took a bathroom break and was horrified by the ugly lip line I was left with. UGH! I’ve mentioned previously that this series has taken its toll on my lip condition so I can’t blame the product for gathering in the drier areas but the colour wasn’t nearly as opaque as it could be.. I mean who ever heard of a sheer matte?? I’d love to hear from those of you who’ve tried these to see if it’s just me. I’d expect the bolder colours to be better but still.. wouldn’t recommend these, so much more choice for your money these days. Once upon a time we raved about MUA because ‘well.. it’s only a few pounds’ etc but now they have some stiff competition and this just didn’t bring it for me.

I found that with the other MUA matte lipsticks I’ve tried. Very sheer and hard to apply. Definitely won’t be trying the Lip a Switch out

The gloss looks nice on you, but yeah, that lipstick… not good. I don’t have any MUA lip products (just eyes/nails)- are they all this bad?

Wow, in the first photo you can see where it clings to the dry areas. My lips are very dry, and I hate when this happens. You’re right about the gloss saving it, but this is a definite pass.

The colour looks really nice, however my go to lipstick that stays on all day and comes in a range of colours has to be Maybelline Superstay 24hour dual ended lip colour. It is not as cheap as MUA’s offering but it is so much better!

That shade is amazing! It looked a bit off when it was the lipstick on its own, but as soon as the gloss was on, it looked so damn good! I’m usually a matte lipstick kinda gal, and steer away from gloss. But i might have to make an exception!

i think maybe doing a lip scrub every night would help your lips.. and wearing a lip balm before you apply it will help keep ur lips moisturised whilst keeping the lipstick itself matte
