#30in30 Rimmel Kate Nude 45

So it would seem little old Kate has yet another collaboration with Rimmel! I can’t help but wonder how much input she has in to these products aside from lending them her name but as a rule I generally enjoy them so I’m not complaining. I hadn’t heard anything about the new Nude range before I saw the stand in Boots but since I’ve seen reviews from women of all skintones popping up so that in encouraging. On the highstreet nude is usually one ‘universal’ shade so it’s nice to see a variety for once. I chose 45 which (would you believe) is one of the darker shades, the come MUCH paler than this but I’ve never been in to that ‘concealer lips’ trend so this is more my scene. The finish is very sheer and glossy, I am guessing Rimmel have done this so that the colours ARE more universal as they will adapt slightly to your own lip colour but for me this one was a bit.. meh.

You can’t hide those tired eyes, am I right? This weeks photos have had me looking more and more like a need a good nights sleep.. the moving process has taken it’s TOLL! I initially thought this colour was just a really great match for my natural lip colour but on further inspection I’ve decided it’s actually just not very pigmented.. really sheer, more like a tinted balm than a lipstick. Like a balm it doesn’t last long on my lips but it wears evenly and so there’s no worry of it looking patchy after a couple of sips of tea. UNLIKE balm it’s SUPER drying.. I have never really experience anything like it from such a glossy texture but my lips felt parched.. like they needed a serious moisture hit after only a couple of hours of wear. I’d be interested to see how the other colours fare as at this price point you don’t always get the most consistency throughout a range but if this is anything to go by I’m not impressed. Have you tried these yet? Did you like them?

Such a shame as that’s the only shade I thought I might be able to pull off but I like my lipsticks with more opaqueness! I think you can be forgiven for tired eyes if your in the middle of a move!

I have the lipstick and have to agree that it is quite sheer but the nail polishes they released in the line are great nude colors!

I thought this was going to be my shade, such a shame on the pigment too! I was planning on buying this but if it dries your lips that’s a big no no for me!

I think it looks really pretty. i do know what you mean about the concealer pout. Sometimes it can look a little washed out.
Have you seen the Essence nude lip collection? that has some darker ones. Let me know what you think 🙂

I have this lipstick and I found it a bit patchy. I’m not convinced that it suits me either, even though it’s the best shade for me out of the bunch. I’ll give it a few more tries though. It might look better with more dramatic eyeshadow.

I have this shade…the scent puts me off it, so I don’t wear it as much as i’d like.

I’m so glad I read this because I was temped to pick up a couple on the basis that I might have actually found a shade for my olive skintone – such a shame its of a drying formula…I think I’d rather pay a little more and get a lipstick that works well (or in fact turn to the lasting finish range 08 which I love already ^_^)

I’ve just brought this today, and only just popped on your blog to see that you reviewed it. For a glossier finish I think you’re right about it being a little drying. It feels more like a matte than a glossy lipstick. I like it though, something really simple to put on for work or interviews I think. I didn’t really think any of the other colours would of suited me though, even though shade 45 is meant for cooler tones (it said on the stand in Superdrug) I don’t think their choices for warmer tones really were particularly good choices for warmer skin tones.
