I would never choose an orange red, I don’t think they suit me and they do NOTHING for my not-so-white teeth.. but I have totally fallen in love with this one. After the let down that was yesterdays Burts Bees lip crayon I had to remove that and apply something else and this was next in line. I wasn’t going out but who says you can’t rock a bold lip for pizza at home? I did just that and can tell you it held up pretty well too. As mattes go it’s pretty creamy, not the driest formula but still long wearing.. this seems to be the new thing and I can see why but I’m a ‘real’ matte fan so this is (while more comfortable) isn’t quite MATTE to me.
The colour is amazing, super saturated, vibrant pillar box red that’s perfect for Summer (and my bizarre UK tan) so that’s what really won me over but the texture is lovely too. I own one other Smashbox lipstick which I also happen to love so it’s no great surprise this was a hit but at £16 they’re pretty pricey and I want to be 100% sure it’s worth recommending.. it is. I have another colour from the new matte range to share with you this month which I’m extra excited about now but if you’re in to the new comfort-matte formula and super opaque lip colours his is really, really nice!
