Good Morning and happy Saturday to you all.. TGIS, am I right? It’s been a LONG week and to be honest when you have a 2 year old the weekends not much respite but I can take 10 minutes away to write about lipstick so it’s not all sleep deprivation and cars being rolled over your face.. silver linings! This is one of my absolute favourites recently, I MAY have mentioned (a couple of hundred times) that I have a bit of a thang for the mid tone pink recently and this is one of the best I own. After this whole 30 lips in 30 days thing is done I will do a little follow up on my favourite mid tone pinks I think.. they really are becoming quite the obsession so I believe I have enough to warrant their own post. For now we’ll stick to the shade at hand, I haven’t tried much from the Topshop makeup range but I believe the only other I have is matte and much as I liked it I didn’t LOVE the formula (they can be tricky) but THIS I love, oh yes!
It’s creamy with almost a glossy finish and the colour is neutral but deeper than your average pink and just generally flattering to my skin tone which I guess is what I’m looking for in a mid tone pink. Pink can be tough, especially with blonde hair, you can look more Barbie than you’d like and that’s definitely not what I am going for (well.. most of the time) and I think really it’s the slightly darker tones I should be looking at if this is anything to go by. It’s not long wearing but then none of the best things are, are they? I don’t mind retouching and the most important thing is that it wears evenly, it’s not patchy or streaky (sounds like I’m talking about fake tan but I assure you, we’re still on lipstick) and if it wears away to almost nothing I’m not left with an unsightly lip liner look. All round great product I would encourage you to try if you’re in to this kind of thing.
I’m assuming it’s a popular one as I can’t find it online (sold out?) but if it reappears it will be here priced £8.00 – I suggest you hit up your local store to see if you can track it down there
