I haven’t spoke a lot about these Glossy Stains since I compared them to the L’Oreal stains last summer but since then I’ve tried more of each and decided that the YSL’s are 100% more consistent, they may bleed a little and not be perfect but the L’Oreal ones that aren’t good are REALLY not good. I know that every YSL I buy will work in exactly the same way but I’ve wasted at least £25 on L’Oreal ones that were duds so although they seem like the way to go if they are no good I may as well have bought another Glossy Stain. I am still very impressed with the shades Romy and Juliet from L’Oreal but up to now they are the only shades I would recommend whereas everyone I’ve tried from YSL has been spot on.
My main issue with these stains is that it’s impossible to tell what colour they are going to be until you’re wearing them. When you first apply them they’re the colour they are in the tube and then they set and get darker they can transform into a totally different colour so shopping in store is not the best way to buy them. I recommend you do your research and look up as many swatches as you can online before you choose your colours.. especially if you’re only planning on buying one. This looks like it will be a coral/pink in the tube but on the lips it’s much more red which is fine, it’s a nice colour but it’s not what I expected which is annoying because once you’ve used it you can’t take it back and it’s not a cheap product. I’m hoping to find something closer to what I’m actually looking for on my next go and if any of you can suggest me a nice mid-tone pink (YES, I KNOW! I’M OBSESSED!) I’m all ears.
In summary, put this on in the AM, eat, drink and be merry.. it will last! You might have to touch up before going out for the evening but these Glossy Stains are some of the only products I know I can put on and forget about
