A New Love

philip lim pashli 3.1 orchid

Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone? I scheduled all of my posts for the week before we went away on the 25th so although I’ve only been a day without posting I have actually been gone for quite a while..

So on to the purpose of my late night ramble. I have ALWAYS been a fan of the Philip Lim 3.1 Pashli satchel but a number of things (weight, awkwardness, price being just 3) have put me off but today I saw this beauty in Harvey Nichols (Leeds) and I just fell in love. Best of all my husband fell a little bit in love too and is now actively encouraging me to save my pennies to buy it. I’m fairly certain there must be some master plan behind this, haha, but I do not need much encouragement where handbags are concerned and his approval was basically the green light telling me I NEEDED it. It’s a new colour for A/W ’14 and the combination of the warm pink/purple an d the gunmetal hardware is just gorgeous – perfect for the upcoming season when jewel toned pops of colour look great against Autumnal neutrals but also for the summer time. Although it’s not black (I know some people would only consider a designer purchase in a basic colour) I still feel like I’d have a lot of opportunity to wear it since I wear a lot of black/white/grey and most of my colour is in the pink/purple family so it will go nicely.. hopefully.

Let’s face it I’m trying to justify the cost having already set my heart on it but I thought I’d put this out there and ask what you think of the bag, colour etc. I’ve heard mixed reviews of the style, lots of people love it, others have issues with the opening etc being less than practical but it’s not like it’s the only bag I’ll own and I think I can make my peace with the niggly issues for the sake of the pretty, pretty, pretty.. oh that colour *swoon*

Since it’s a new colour it’s not many places online yet but the cheapest place I’ve found it so far is MyWardrobe.com – link – I’d also be interested in hearing from any of you who’ve ordered from there before as I never have.

That is a gorgeous handbag! I agree with you when it comes to the color. Although most people tell me to buy things in neutral colors, I usually pick the color that I like the most. Even though it doesn’t match my outfit perfectly, I would prefer a handbag that I would use instead of a handbag that I wouldn’t use because I’m not crazy about the color. It’s all about what makes you happy 🙂
    Great post! 😀

I’m probably the worst person when talking about buying handbags, I can never say no to a new one! That colour is gorgeous! Such a unique shade. I love the style of the Philip Lim bags too. If you wear a lot of black/white then this will go perfectly, definitely start saving!! Big thumbs up from me!

Gorgeous bag, but just too expensive. I could never justify spending that much on a bag, I would just cry at the thought of all the other things I could buy/do with the money:) but the colour is lovely xxx

Oh just go for this at full steam!!!! Love that purple and to be quite honest, I never was a handbag wallflower and depending on my preference for my clothes, I always had colorful bags or nails. And in my experience, five or any number of Black or neutral designer handbags won’t make you change them more often – in the contrary! I am with Missy – even when a tad off along with the rest of the outfit it looks so great to wear a colorful bag. I just splurged on a bright teal Fab by Fabienne Chapot bag so I HAVE to say the above, no? 😉

That colour is stunning. Why did you have to make me fall in love with such an expensive bag?!
