Ace Of Base 2015

IMG_7502Time for my annual round up of all things beauty from the past year and this time I’m being THOROUGH! I’ve split it up into categories and tried (where possible) to narrow each item down to one favourite for the year. Some items don’t have specific favourites because I really didn’t love any one thing but most have at LEAST one. We’re kicking off with base because well, that’s where we start, isn’t it?

Foundation

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Concealer

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eye

and the ‘Dark Circles’ version

Powder

H&M Mattifying Powder

Maybelline Superstay 24 – lasts but can oxidise

Blush

Burberry Cameo – expensive but AMAZING!

Revolution Ultra Contour Palette

Highlight

Freedom Ambient

Revolution Radiance Palette

If you want to know more about why I’ve loved and in some cases already repurchased these products this year you can watch this video. I had originally thought splitting the categories would give you bite-size videos to watch for New Year shopping inspiration but it turns out I can TALK so a video from me coming in at under 15 minutes is rare.

What were your favourite base products from 2015?

Miss BB

This is a great roundup, I love both the Makeup Revolution palettes as well – the contour was definitely my palette of the year! Great post! XO -Kim

I love that Freedom and Make-up Revolution have come out with so many awesome dupes this year! The Maybelline concealers are my favorite too. Although, I have very dark circles so use a cream corrector first then put one of them on top. Thanks for the fun round-up. I’m looking forward to the rest. 🙂

Estee Lauder’s Double Wear is one of my favourite foundations, too! Although at the moment I am really loving Revlon’s Colourstay with a drop of Cover FX Cover Drops mixed in! I need to pick up Revolution’s Contour Palette and practise contouring.

I used double wear for years, but switched about 3 months ago to mehron celebre pro hd. Better cover, can be worn dewy or matte depending how you set it, and it’s only £9.

Aside from the Burberry blusher I agree totally with the list. I would like to give a big thumbs up for Milani cosmetics. Besotted with the lipstick in fairly natural and their baked blush in luminoso. I am fairly pale and these shades are just right. As an older lady, Boots no. 7 foundation lift and luminate is a great find. I had the match test done and was given a list of lipstick shades. This has been a great discovery. Encouraged me to try much stronger shades of colour. The lipsticks are wonderfully moisturising too.

Ive found that Revlon colourstay for oily/combination works really well for my skin…ive always thought that I had drk skin and tended to sway more to dry skin foundations but found that they just slid off my face.. I was told to dry a foundation for an oily skin and my goodness the Revlon colourstay does exactly what it says…IT STAYS!!!.. My face now doesn’t feel naked every time I leave the house… It was because of your recommendations in one of your beauty videos that I decided to try it so thank you so much for making me love foundation again… x
