All That Glitters

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis shirt is a serious multi-tasker.. it's not the showstopper here but it's so versatile it's worth pointing out that you can still find it in stores and I'd recommend you go and check it out. The draped design is flattering and the style can be dressed up or down, it was my go to for evenings out in Las Vegas and I found that it looked particularly good paired with sequins - see here.. and above of course. On to the main event.. the skirt was unfortunately (for you, not me.. it was a STEAL!) a sale find back in January and I have had SO many questions about it having posted outfit shots on instagram etc. Although it's pretty glitzy being entirely sequined and all the matte finish makes it slightly less POW and more wearable in my real life.. as opposed to my vacation 'be anyone you want to be' life

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe had a couple of swankier evenings, dinner and a show, I don't have a tremendous amount of reason to dress up and go out these days (kids!) so it was nice to feel a little glamorous for a night or two. That being said one of the best nights was our last which we spent at the Hooters Casino, so much more casual and just generally so much more fun. It can all be a bit well to do around the high rollers and much as it's nice to dress up I'm much more comfortable in a bingo hall scenario.. although as I remember they take that pretty seriously so maybe not so much. We played a bizarre game that was basically roulette for dummies (you can see it in this vlog) which I seriously could have played for HOURS (or until my money ran out) and the best bit was playing in my Hooters sweatshirt and Las Vegas visor!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABack to dressing up for the night.. my shoes were eBay finds, I'd been lusting after Jimmy Choo Lance sandals for the longest time so couldn't resist a lightly used pair for better than half price. They're remarkably comfortable and I think that's because there's so little to them. They're high so they hurt the balls of my feet if I'm standing for a long time but they're some of the comfiest heels I own, I've ACTUALLY run for a bus in them.. no joke. They're pricey but if you were considering a designer shoe (or have found this post looking for reviews) I would highly recommend them. My bag is a Rebecca Minkoff 5 Zip mini zip, the colour way is pretty tough to find but it's worth tracking down as the mix of rose gold and silver means it goes with any colour jewellery you're wearing, perfect for the mixed metals trend that's still riding high. Watch for those wondering is Kate Spade Grammercy and these photos make me really miss my hair extensions.. although being able to scrape my bob up into a ponytail while I write this makes up for it. Review on the extensions to come - loved it but I'm not sure I could handle fake hair for long periods of time!
