Always A Bride? *sp

I only got married 2 years ago but we had a very small ceremony soon after Milo was born and we knew we wanted to do something else in the future. We had originally wanted to get married in Vegas but you know how it is, families have their way, don’t they? When our friends Chris and Emma (link to Emmas blog) visited recently we got to talking about holidays and how we each wanted to go back to sin city. We’re pretty sold on this idea now and are hoping to go back with them in January/February next year with potentially 2 Vegas style ‘weddings’ during the trip.. tackier the better I say! I am pretty excited about it but hadn’t thought much about outfits etc until I caught sight of this dress in this months Cosmopolitan. It’s from River Island, I’m yet to find it online but seriously, how gorgeous!!? I know people like to spend huge amounts of bridal gowns but when you can get something as pretty as this on the high street why would you bother? Plus you could even wear this again, although I said that about the cheap ASOS number I got married in and I never have.

Those of you married gals will totally understand the loss of planning and wedding related stuff after the wedding is over, you get so caught up in pinterest and details that it’s sad to think you’ll never need any of those things again.. a potential second ceremony has me thinking of dresses, handmade tiaras, flowers, photography, CAKE and Wedding Jewellery that would put Heidi Montag to shame – see here for reference

When we were thinking about a Vegas wedding the first time we really liked The Chapel Of The Bells, uber tacky but Emma is talking me round to something a little more romanatic like this..

I’m letting my imagination run away with me and those of you who followed my wedding posts (see the tab above for those) will remember how often I change my mind about this kind of thing but I love the idea and since we’re already going to be there with friends around to take out pictures it seems like a missed opportunity!

Ugh, if there’s one thing I really want to do in the future it’s to get married. I’m not one of those who has fully planned out their wedding, but I do know that I wan’t it all to be in a place so mystical, and with a dress so wonderful, that people will describe my wedding as the most beautiful, fairytale-like thing they’ve ever seen.

    Ambitions, I know…

You’re spot on – getting married is wonderful but there’s a tinge of sadness that you’ll never do all the planning again. I was lucky as we had quite a decent sized affair first time around (also 2yrs ago) but I would love to do it all again. I’m working on getting Mr P to agree to a renewal for our 5th anniversary… 😉

My friend is having her 30th in Vegas next year and we’re all going too, we were saying we should totally get married while we’re there (me and my boyfriend, I’m not marrying my friend) I know just what you mean about families and I’ve always secretly fancied a vegas wedding with just the two of us.

Love that dress, not sure if I would get married in it but it’s super cute and each to their own! I don’t know if I would ever be forgiven if I ran away and got married in Vegas – I doubt my family would ever forgive me!

I went for more of the traditional wedding dress, but I bought it from cost me £360 which I though was a bargain compared to a bridal shop-which didn’t even set foot in. I got loads of compliments on it too! White with a sweetheart neckline, fitted body and fullish skirt, and a black lace band round the waist which was really flattering. That dress in the pic is beautiful-I totally agree you don’t have to spend fortune to look stunning-even though granted I did spend more than that. I also know exactly what you mean about the planning-I miss it so much! Is it sad that I still look at wedding websites and see decorations and stuff and think ooh that would be good for a wedding…oh no I don’t have one to plan…haha x

I got married 13 years ago and although the web/internet had got off the ground it was nothing like it is today…OMG I would have had a ball…although to be fair I did have fun buying endless wedding magazines and going to Bridal fairs etc. I had a beautiful classy wedding without spending a fortune but I was 7 months pregnant (had been together 17 years….booked a date…and ended up being heavily pregnant! What are the chances after 17 years?) but I would love to renew our vows in Vegas! Such fun and I pretty much think it have so much more meaning…just the two us. That dress is gorgeous too…very whimsical x
