Arch De Triumph

I’m thinking of filming a video on the best and worst brow products. Thoughts? I’ve tried so many over the years that I consider myself a bit of an authority on which brands do brows well – hint – it’s not many! First of all there are so many options, pencil, wax, powder, pen.. for someone looking for their first brow definer it could be daunting! I think the formula comes down to personal preference and much as I like a powder I don’t always find that it looks 100% natural and it’s not always the quickest. I think I like a pencil best but saying that there as so few pencils I’ve bought and actually liked!  For me I’m looking for the perfect balance of pigment without it being too waxy. I can apply with a light hand but chances are I might go a bit overboard and if the pencil is too waxy it’s hard to recover from without creating streaks, are you with me?

Anyway I’d seen this on the S&G stand a few times and decided to give it a go a few weeks ago when it was on offer. I was looking for a new pencil to match my blonder locks and although this is a universal shade I though it looked light enough to do the job and liked the idea of the double ended highlighter feature. Unfortunately there’s little I like about this product. It’s so rare that I dislike something from this brand so I assumed I would love it but unfortunately it’s just not that great. The pencil is too dark which is partially my fault for assuming it would match but my main issue is the chalky textured highlighter. It doesn’t blend well on my skin and just sort of sits there looking streaky.. hard to describe.

You can see from my before/afters it did the job of defining my brows but it’s just not for me. Like I said I’m super picky when it comes to these specific products and this one just didn’t hit the spot but I think I’ve found a great one recently which I am excited to share with you soon.. I just want to give it a bit more time before I rave about it as it’s not from the drugstore and I hate to recommend higher end products unless they’re really worth the cash!

I find it really hard to find good brow products which aren’t really dark!

I think I typically prefer pencils too however

I’m really enjoying the MAC pencil at the moment but it’s still not as light as I’d like

i found the same with the benefit brow highlighter – rubbish!

i find it really difficult to find a pencil/eyeshadow that is ash-y enough for my brunette hair. everything is just too warm, and that’s highend so certainly have never found anything on the highstreet!

Have you tried Ettu Sais? Their brow pencils are incredible and for $22.00 (Sorry, I don’t know how many pounds), it’s at the same price of other makeup brands. I mean, it’s the perfect blend between wax and pigment.
