Avon Planet Spa – Bali Botanica Body Butter

IMG_1036

I feel like I must try a new body butter every month. I have a growing collection in my bodycare drawer (it’s getting out of hand) and some of them never get a mention here on my blog so given that we’re still in the cold weather months (aren’t we?!) I thought I’d review some of them for you. First up is the Avon Bali Botanic with Frangipani and Lemongrass. Bizarrely given the scent suggestion this smells a little of sun cream to me, not my favourite. I’m quite sure I’m in the minority not liking the classic sunscreen scent but I don’t and I’d rather my body not smell of it unless it’s actually protecting me from the sun.. that being said the butter itself is beautiful. I tend to use this only on my legs (where the smell doesn’t really bother me as much) after I get out of the bath. It’s super thick and feels so nourishing, if you don’t mind the scent of Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess you’ll love this!

I’m in two minds about the packaging, I love the look of it and when I first open it it feels a bit luxe to be in this Grolsch style (yes, the beer) opening however once you have the cream on your hands it’s a bit awkward and often flings off and whacks my hand.. kinda painful and not ideal but like I say.. it’s love/hate. If this was in an opaque screw top pot maybe I’d be saying ‘it’s nice but the packaging looks cheap’ – swings and roundabouts and all that.

Have you tried anything awesome from Avon lately?

I’m an Avon representative so I know more than anyone how hit and miss their products can be. But their Planet Spa product range is so lovely and luxurious! It surprises me every time.

My favourites from AVON lately are the Planet Spa clay mask and the apricot and shea butter line in Naturals. They’re running huge shower gels with this scent in my neck of woods currently, and I think I’m gonna buy myself a dozen.

I really want to give the body butters a try, but I’m a little put off by thickness. For some reason I like my lotions on the thin side. Does it go on easily, or do you really have to work it in?

Last time I used Planet SPA and Avon in general was around 3-4 years ago, I loved their hand creams and masks. Good that you reminded me of it, I’ll have to check the Catalog… 🙂
