Back To Work!

First and foremost I have a bit of exciting news, I can access my wordpress account from my ancient work computer so normal blogging will continue in my lunch hour. In fact given the distractions I face at home I’d be surprised if you didn’t see more from me now I’m sat at a desk in peace. It’s likely I’ll throw in the odd face/outfit of the day but for the most part there will be product reviews a plenty as per usual. Another rather lovely thing I discovered today was my Save The Date for the Cosmo Blog Awards in my inbox. I’m so thankful to everyone who nominated/voted for me, as I’ve previously mentioned I’m under no illusion a ‘nobody’ like me can win when I’m up against such internet heavy weights as Fleur De Force and Zozeebo but hey.. it’s pretty awesome to have been shortlisted so I’m very happy with that! Whether I’ll actually attend the awards.. I’m still on the fence. I’ve spoken out about events in the past and I really just don’t think I fit in with the blogging crowd. That’s not to say they’re not all lovely I just don’t know any of them and it’s tough to break in to an established group when it’s potentially one of the only times I’ll ever meet them. I’m far less confident than I may appear on screen and going down to London for the night totally alone is more than a little daunting so we’ll see. I’d love to go I just don’t know if I have the metaphorical balls to rock up unaccompanied.

Shockingly I have little to say about my first day back in the working world. I enjoyed getting ‘dressed up’ and I totally agree with all you Mums that promised me it would feel like a holiday compared to staying home with baby.. I had chunks of time today when I actually had nothing to do. That never happens at home, believe me! I dropped Milo off at his childminders without a tear and have remained cry free all day long which is perhaps the biggest surprise.. I’m very much looking forward to a big squeeze when I get home though. It was Ella’s first day of year 2 today as well, I’m informed it went well and she came home with no coat or bag so just an average school day for Ella. On the whole I was pretty much dreading today (and have the stress breakouts to prove it) but it was a piece of cake, I am almost looking forward to coming back tomorrow and already can’t wait for payday!

Until tomorrow..

Miss BB

Glad you had a fab day at work! It all seems daunting going back but quite empty without your child with you…My 6 year old son had his first day in year 2 also and he came home with no school jumper! Kids hey!!! I’m currently searching for a job as my oldest son is 12 so I’m stuck in the horrid loop-hole of being left deflated and depressed when I don’t get accepted for a job 🙁

just keep trying. It’s really not been as bad returning to work as I’d thought.. It definitely gives you back a bit of yourself you lose as a stay at home mum x

Because they are so false, they put across this perfect image that
we all know is fake. You are real and sometimes people are blind and opt for glossy feel good image….we all know things aren’t as perfect as they make out. You are doin great Khila keep going.

I had no idea what you were referring to with this.. took me a good few minutes haha, other bloggers? I don’t think they’re all like that I think it’s just an impression we have of the cliques. I wish I lived in London and could attend these swanky events with my blogger pals but I can’t.. so I think I resent those who can a bit and that isn’t going to help me make friends with those I meet, is it? lol

Milo was fine at the childminders it would seem.. had a big cry this morning though and I was convinced it was ’cause he knew I was going to leave him again but he was fine when we got there.. I’m sure he’ll settle in quickly!

Just to be nominated must be exciting and didn’t you win an award last year? I’m blogging and making videos on youtube and I really enjoy it. Hour’s and hour’s of work goes into blogposts and videos, but t doesn’t feel like work. Good to hear that you can do some of it from work at lunchtime. I’m enjoying your OOTD videos.

absolutely! it’s such a huge achievement I was completely overwhelmed to be shortlisted because cosmo had to have looked at my blog and seen something worth reading and that’s amazing to me
