I still have one more set to show you from this launch but I can’t lie.. (of course I can, but I wont) this is my favourite. These mini crayons may not look like much but they pack a punch and the colour selection is awesome. Jane actually made a video about the collection which you can watch on YouTube here (subscribe while you’re there, her videos are great!) in which she talks about how she chose the shades. I love how much thought she put in to everything she put together and that she had her own taste in mind when formulating colours, not just what she thought would be popular. I mean, if you had the opportunity to create something like this you would want to make colours you wanted to wear yourself, wouldn’t you? All three are so flattering and wearable, even the bright red is somehow softer than your average pillar box while still retaining the impact. The quality is excellent, unlike the shadows which in fairness I’m VERY picky about these could pass for high end in the right packaging. They’re creamy, opaque, moisturising but still firm enough that they don’t smush in the tube. Just great.
They’re not full sized pencils but how often do you use up a whole lipstick? For £15 you get a capsule wardrobe of colours which would make this a great gift for a teen or someone looking to expand their makeup collection.. or of course for yourself. My favourite is definitely the coral, I’ve already worn it 3 of the 4 days I’ve had it. It’s just the right side of bright, like a muted neon and the non sticky finish makes is dream to wear.
I can’t rave enough about these, I just wish they were available in more colours. I’m hoping that the collection proves so successful that everyone signs on for a sequel because what’s available now is only going to be around until the New Year so if you have your eye on something it’s a now or never situation..Damn limited editions!
I also filmed a GRWM (Get Ready With Me for those not fluent in YouTube-ish) using a bunch of products from the collection if you’d like to see them in action – see here or below
For those wondering the blush I’m wearing here is The Balm Hot Mama
