Benefit Fake Up Concealer

IMG_6001IMG_6004

I received these (actually several of these hence their inclusion in my Benefit giveaway) in my goody bag at the Stylehaul IMATS party and it may have been the most exciting freebie I’ve had in a while.. I was dying to try this stuff! I’m not the best at remembering an eye cream (or much in the way of skin care) in the mornings so I thought anything with an added step built in had to be good, right? Obviously it’s no replacement but it definitely hydrates my under eyes and having now had my fine lines thrust upon me (I had no idea) every little helps. It did kind of exaggerate them a little actually but given that I’ve never really noticed them until now I can’t tell you whether that’s better or worse than my regular concealer. Also it doesn’t offer a great deal of coverage so this is for those who need very little or are happy to layer something more substantial on top. I will keep it for my no makeup makeup days. A big redeeming feature for me is the packaging.. I’ve become so used to cheap plastic that this feels a bit lux and looks gorgeous on my vanity. Other than though it’s just mot that special.. it’s a nice to have for my relaxed days but it’s not an every day product for someone like me who should get more sleep and for the price I want to be using it every day! It’s a nice gimmick though.. I foresee this dual formula idea filtering into the high street brands before the year is up!

It’s a shame you don’t rate these well I thought the idea of them was really cool! But thanks for the heads up I won’t be buying if it’s just a bit of a gimmick 🙂

Was it moisturizing at all? The outer layer of the stick seems like it would have some moisture benefits.

Great review, am tempted to go and at least look at it now. xx http://chictrends.co.uk/

I’ve had a Body Shop concealer exactly like this for a while (the moisture bar is in the middle though). It’s quite thick and covers pretty well so it’s good for a day when you want medium-full coverage for a long time! I wonder how this Benefit one compares (:

I really wanted to love this but when I tried it in-store my mascara smudged like crazy on it writing half an hour! Does powder help with it?

I think its quite hydrating. I like to use it first then put my bobbi brown colour corrector on top. Nothing gives me as much coverage as I want though. But having this underneath makes the bobbi brown one crease less.

I tried this in store and agree with you entirely, I found there wasn’t much coverage. I was very disappointed as had been dead set on buying it but I need a little extra, this was too translucent.
