Not that any of you will have noticed but there was just the ONE post yesterday.. I was doing so well keeping up with 2 per day (a little challenge for myself to celebrate my favourite month and back to school season) but I spent so long photographing new products I was all blogged out by the evening. Don’t worry though, I’m back today with something super exciting and brand new, Benefits cream blush compact, MAJORETTE!
I have to say I’m not the worlds biggest cream blush fan, 1. they aren’t usually conducive with keeping my skin shine free and 2. they can be SO bold and tricky to blend. Much as great pigmentation SOUNDS great it’s the last thing I want in a blush, especially one that either smudges beyond any possibility of a neat face of makeup or sets so quickly you’re left with stripes on your cheeks. I know I’m not alone here, we’ve all experienced these not so excellent formulas (and price is irrelevant, I HATE MAC cream blush for example) so I’m happy to tell you this does not follow suit.
Not only is it a true cream to powder product (no shine here, girls) but you can be as heavy handed as you like, it doesn’t exaggerate pores or dryness and it blends beautifully. I can’t say it lasts all day but 1. no blush does on me and 2. it’s ideally packaged for top ups. Compact but sturdy, a mirror in the lid, no brush required and as I’ve mentioned it’s a powder finish so you don’t look like you’ve just put lip gloss on your cheeks – winner!
I honestly thought this wouldn’t be for me at all but I really, really like it. The campaign that Benefit are running alongside the launch is called #Cheek2Cheek – they’re suggesting that you use Majorette as a booster for their other boxed powders to give an extra dimension to your current favourite. They sent me a brand new Hoola (mine was very much past it’s best so hugely appreciated) to test this theory so you can expect a post on that later in the week.
PS. This also smells INCREDIBLE! Exactly what I remember orange ice lollies to smell/taste like when I was a kid. Massively nostalgic and seriously yummy.
