Benefit Porefessional Agent Zero Shine

IMG_0881

I was initially going to rush out a post on this brand new product as soon as I received it but having had it and used it for a couple of weeks now I’m glad I didn’t. I immediately loved the concept and my first impressions would have been positively glowing but not many products are perfect and I’ve since discovered some less than great features.

Firstly I don’t feel like it does much for my pores.. this doesn’t bother me but it might bother you since it claims to do something similar to the Porefessional primer. Shine wise it does about the same as any other powder.. knocks off that sheen to start off with but the oil makes its way through by lunch.. again this isn’t a deal breaker for me but the packaging does suggest it would be better than your average in that department too. I’m not a big loose powder fan generally but this seems to be a less messy way of doing it, twist open and shake out.. the less positive note here would be that you can’t pour it back in if you overestimate how much you need. Lastly the brush that comes with it is not fit for purpose, too dense and can lead to a cakey finish.. not ideal.

Now we’re done with the negatives let me tell you why I love Agent Zero Shine. It’s PERFECT for travel or keeping in your bag.. impossibly to smash like a regular compact and entirely self contained. Exactly what you need for touch ups on the go and the brush twists out of the bottom, the powder goes in the cap and then it all goes back away within itself. Just awesome. Like I say my only tip would be to go lightly with the brush as it’s quite a heavy powder in my experience. If I am using this to set my makeup at the start of the day I like to get out a duo fibre brush for a lighter application.

It’s not a powder I will reach for on a day to day basis but it’s the one I will be carrying in my bag from now on

I wouldn’t take it out on a train but if I was in a bathroom.. I really like it for in my bag

I loved the benefit pore professional primer. Even though I only had a small sample size, I loved it – it was like soft focus for my skin. As this uses the same moniker, I would expect it to do similar, but don’t see how it could do that as a powder. I always keep the Body Shop mineral powder face blotters in my handbag – they are great for evening out shine on a quick trip out without having to carry a whole compact.
    Great review – thank you.

I love the primer too.. I don’t use it every day but when I feel like I need it and it’s the only primer I’ve ever liked. This isn’t in the same league in my opinion but I’ve heard other people rave about it so don’t just take my opinion lol

I’m really surprised this was a powder! Hmmm…I do like the travel ready packaging but I feel like it would take even longer to use because you have to be so careful to not waste any thing since you can’t put it back.

it’s pretty slow to come out so I don’t have a major issue with waste but that might vary product to product

I do like it and I love the concept for keeping in your bag but it’s a little heavy for everyday for me.. however perhaps that’s what you’d want if you were very oily

Not sure on the price tag but it could be worth looking into. My nose has been super shiny lately and it could do with something a little more heavy duty, this could be the ticket!

Great Review! I’ve been wanting to try it but wanted to do some research first and this certainly helped me to make a decision!

Hmm, I will be honest. For that price, I would expect a heck of a lot more than poke-through shine by lunch time!
