Benefit Posie Balm

Benefit Cosmetics Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in PosieI’ve heard bits and pieces about these balms however they haven’t popped up as stand out products in favourites videos etc so I assumed they weren’t worth  a second look however when it was in the Sephora set I was excited to try it for review purposes alone. Well.. my main bug bear isn’t really about the product itself and not something I can fairly judge it on but of all of the minis that were in this kit this was the TINIEST. What’s insane is the packaging is great, it’s not cheap feeling/looking at all and you would think that if they were to cut corners to pinch pennies it would be with that. Maybe put it in another tube for the sample sizes but no.. put it in a substantial looking tube and give them next to no product, that’s definitely a better idea. If you check the list of included products on the site it is by far the smallest at 0.01oz and I can’t help but be a little pissed at Benefit for creating such a stingy sample. This came in a set I paid for but even if it was included as a free gift I’d be kind of annoyed.. maybe that’s unreasonable, let me know your thoughts!

Benefit Cosmetics Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in Posie lipBenefit Cosmetics Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in Posie faceRant aside the product itself is actually really nice. Posie Balm isn’t necessarily the one I’d have chosen, I may have gone for the slightly bolder Bene Balm but regardless I will throw it in my handbag for those occasions when I’d prefer a little more colour than my regular balm. It feels really nice on and gives a sheer yet even hint of colour in (as I previously mentioned) very nice packaging. I would consider purchasing a full size and I’m surprised I haven’t heard more about these.. I guess they’re a bit out of season now but come Summer I may have to pick one up.. cause this will last me about until the end of this sentence..

haha It is a stingy sample, I agree. I was surprised when I saw the size of the “bullet”. So tiny. But the colour is very nice. 🙂

It took me a little while to actually realise that the picture showed the whole thing! Almost a laughable sample, but I guess it’s still doing its job and giving you just enough to try it out. XD ♥

That sample size is a bit of a joke! Usually I’m fairly impressed with Benefit’s sample – I’ve had a blush and bronzer sample for over a year and barely made a dent in them – so I think that makes this even more disappointing! I considered picking up the Benebalm when these first came out but didn’t see as many glowing reviews as I expect to, so I didn’t think they’d be very good. Do you find it dried out your lips after using (like some lip balms do!) or is it a bit like the Revlon Lip Butters?

I know you said this wouldn’t be the colour you would pick, but it suits your colouring so much. Gorgeous.

Mine was broken upon purchase (it was stuck in the tube and wouldn’t twist up). Upon breaking the lovely packaging to dig it out and repack it in another tube, I discovered there is a whole lotta product beneath the bullet that consumers can’t get to! Why?! At least it’s a nice product.
