Best Body Butters

IMG_2506In the Summer we all want our skin to LOOK its best but in the Winter we want it to FEEL it. I know we’re not quite there yet but now’s the time I start switching out my light, oil free lotions for heavier body butters and these are my absolute favourites.. but I love them for different reasons..

IMG_2507Let’s start with the top one shall we? The most luxurious of the bunch and the one I love for the most superficial reason.. scent. Obviously we want anything we put on our bodies to smell good but this takes it to another level, it’s just delicious.. edible even. I have the bath soak, the scrub AND a candle in this scent and I’ve been rationing them since last Christmas.. I have decided that since the gift sets will no doubt go on sale again this year I can afford to finally use them up and seriously.. I just love the body butter SO MUCH. I can’t describe the scent but they carry it in perfume form year round so I encourage you to go and test it out.. that’s also on my list by the way. The body butter itself is of course very nice but there are others I like just as much.. it’s the smell I would pay the inflated price for.

Second on the stack we have a blogger favourite, Soap & Glory Righteous Butter. Much the same the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille this one is a heavy scent that lingers, I can smell both on my skin throughout the day and better still on my bed linen if I’ve applied it after my bath. This is still a bit of a treat at £10.50 a tub BUT it’s considerably cheaper than the LM which will set you back £44.50 for the same amount of product.. ouch! Soap & Glory is my year round favourite when I have time to lounge around letting it soak in, not something I’d apply all over if I had to get dressed anytime soon but because of that I associate it with pampering.

My last pick is a more recent find.. I already very much like the other Sanctuary body souffle I tried and would definitely recommend that one/repurchase however this Firm & Boost version is also great for another use. I don’t know if you find this but I get all kinds of lumps and bumps on my thighs and knees from shaving and this (along with regular exfoliation) has really helped to diminish that issue. It’s supposed to help firm which I’m not sure about but given the areas I’m focusing on I’m remaining hopeful. It has a fresh scent, absorbs quickly and is perfect for just out of the shower, want SOMETHING but don’t want to wait around for it to sink in. A great daily butter that feels super hydrating but dries FAST.

When I want to feel seriously pampered I use my Laura Mercier, when I feel like my skin needs a treat I use the Soap & Glory and when I’ve just jumped out of the shower and am freshly scrubbed (usually a morning activity) I use the Sanctuary for it’s (hopefully) firming properties as well as the quick absorption.

What are your favourite Body Butters?

Soap and Glory products have always been on point. The smell, the texture, the packaging. It just all works. The prices aren’t too bad in comparison to other products out there, but then why shouldn’t you treat yourself every so often ha 🙂

I love the Soap & Glory one, but I’m desperate to sniff the Laura Mercier body souffles, so many people rave about how gorgeous they are!
