When my Dad went to China recently with work he brought me back a bunch of beauty products and about a hundred of these masks, they were in a big pack and I’m not sure he knew what he was buying but seriously.. there were loads. So of course this was the first thing I decided to try and since then I’ve had 2 other guinea pigs, my friend Caz (see her blog here) and my husband – always up for some skincare! The first thing I noticed about the mask was how wet it was, I’ve used sheet masks before but they’ve never been so drenched in whatever it is this is drenched in (I’m told it’s bird saliva.. hmm.. gross) it was also pretty difficult to maneuver since as with all paper masks it is HUGE for my regular sized face. I mentioned these in a video and showed the picture below and several people informed me that you’re actually supposed to take the blue layer off which would make sense as it felt almost too heavy to stay on my face. Lesson learned.
I managed to keep it on for 20 minutes (I had to lay down or it gaped and slid all over the place) and I do think that my skin looked and felt improved afterwards. It was smoother and when I hauled the Asian skincare my Dad brought back initially one of my readers suggested I save the remaining liquid from the sachet to use as a serum.. good idea! It definitely felt refreshing and I will be using the mask again but it’s not a holy grail product. I’ve had more accessible masks do more so I wont be putting in an order for these on his next trip.
Do you have any recommendations for Asian skincare brands to try?
