Black Moisturiser – Whaa?

IMG_3692I know right? It’s weird! Innovative and exciting from Superdrug of all places.. SUPERDRUG?! I love something new and different so I couldn’t wait to give this a go but my first impressions weren’t the best. I just didn’t really understand it, it directs to use MORNING and night.. so in theory you can wear this stuff during the day underneath your makeup.. whaa? I initially used too much and it didn’t absorb, you only need a small amount and providing you rub it in well you do lose most of the black colour but no matter how well is absorbed I felt it left my skin with a grey cast.

IMG_3693I would avoid using this during the day but the colour didn’t bother me at night. I’ve read reviews from people who found it to leave them feeling grubby and unclean.. this isn’t my experience at all. It’s a heavy consistency so it’s not light and fresh but it’s no ‘grubbier’ than any other.. I think it’s psychosomatic because it looks dirty. For the time I used it (around 2 weeks) I did like it.. it left my skin feeling smooth and however I’m quite oily and this was just too heavy for me. It caused breakouts which I haven’t suffered from in ages so I’m certain that was the cause however I think if you have dry skin you might love this. Very cool concept that makes your evening routine a little more interesting.

What a cool concept! It sounds like it would make a good intensive night cream for when you need it 🙂 I break out quite easily though so won’t be getting it myself!

Looks like a cool concept – especially coming from Superdrug. However, like you, I think I would find this too heavy on my slightly oily skin and don’t want to risk break outs!

I bought this, and subsequently returned it! I had to rub my skin really hard to get rid of the dirty looking grey tinge. I just felt mucky! Luckily Superdrug have a great own brand returns policy.
