Blogging Schedule

I’ve never written myself a proper blogging schedule before but in the interest of relaxing about the whole thing and trying to give myself more time off I’m going to try and be more productive and I think this is a good idea. January is a busy month so I can’t take too much time off but if I have a little check list of things that need to do it will stop me from aimlessly browsing the web and spending too much time on twitter.. this is what needs to be done, THEN I can do that stuff. My general weekly framework is below but the big calender above is more specific to this month. Oh and yes I do need to schedule laundry or it will NEVER get done!

The general idea is to film my 3 beauty videos on a Sunday morning which is dead time for us as we all just hang around the house waiting to go to my parents for dinner.. I like to use this time to blog or film and since Milo’s naps are sporadic these days I need to take the time Lee is here to watch him and make those 3 essential videos. Anything for my vlog/spendaholic channels are additional so if I have time in the week I will make them if not.. no big deal. On my days at home with Milo I can take my blog photos and while he’s playing quietly (which is more of a guarantee than nap time) I can sit and write up my posts for the week ahead. I’ve had a lot of questions about how I organise my blogging time so I thought this post would be useful for those of you who’ve asked. I usually have a day every few weeks where I take a ton of photos, edit them all and put them in to my blog as drafts. I then schedule my drafts with no words which is why you occasionally see a post go up with just a picture.. because I’ve hit publish instead of schedule.. OOPS! I try to mix them up so that I don’t have 2 lipstick posts next to each other etc and then once a week I write everything I have scheduled for the week ahead. I used to be great at this but recently I’ve been writing day to day and it gets to a point when I’m home from work and thinking UGH I HAVE to write a post before I go to bed.. I don’t like that. I’m all about planning ahead.

This month I’m working with Avon again – you can see their blog here and my previous posts for them – and eBay which I’m really excited about but that means extra posts and videos so I have to make time for those too. This is not something I do every single month and it’s not ideal timing as I have a week away coming up but I will be blogging less here in January so it should all work out.. I think you’ll really like the eBay posts so keep an eye out for those!

I got this calender from Nicolas blog – link – so if you’re interested you can head on over there and download it too. So helpful and her post inspired me to get organised. If there are any particular posts you’d like to see let me know, I’m hoping to get up daily photo diary posts while we’re in New York but I don’t want to commit myself in case we’re too busy or the internet sucks.. worst case they’ll be up once we get home!

Happy January everyone!

Miss BB

I love this idea. I tend to just work at it willy-nilly doing a bit of this and a bit of that. I really need to plan better, to give my blog the more cohesive feel that I want for the new year. You are such an inspiration – I love your blog!
