Blue For A Boy

Of all the press released I received after the birth of our new Royal Baby the one that best caught my attention was this one from OPI. The release wasn’t anything fancy or too in your face it was just a blue nail polish with a solid theme name and I liked it. You know me, a sucker for anything nails whatever the gimmick but I’d expect this will be my only Royal Baby spin off product mention – that is unless I compile a post of the most ridiculous to give you a laugh.

Dating a Royal is so vague you have to wonder whether they had X bottles of blue and X bottles of pink with the same sticker on the bottom waiting for the announcement but something tells me they hedged their bets given that it isn’t a baby blue but a bold ROYAL one instead.. clever. I’m not usually a fan of blue on my nails but this is actually really flattering, 2 coats to opaque and doesn’t stain my nails so although it was a bit of a gimmick, yes it’s actually a really nice colour and I can see myself wearing it again.. maybe something with white nail art? hmm…

Dating A Royal was already an OPI colour, I owned it a few years ago. I don’t know whether it was discontinued and brought back for this. They also had a pale pink called Who Needs A Prince? a year or two ago as well. Perhaps that was the pink back-up.

I must admit I am not really on board with all the Royal baby hype, this however is very gorgeous and the first Royal baby item I have taken a interest in. Gorgeous!

This is one of my all-time fave OPI colours. It was released wayyy back when, even before the Royal Wedding. I think it’s just being re-promoted again due to the Royal Baby though

This looks like one of those shades that isn’t too garish or daring but instead one that could easily become a staple in your nail kit that could be happily worn on any occasion! It’s a really lovely colour xxx

I’m gonna apologise straight away for being a total buzz killington but I just have to add that ‘dating a royal’ by opi was released in approx. 2008, way before Prince George made his royal appearance!
