It may seem a little late to be reviewing an advent calender but since I wasn’t going to ruin the surprise for myself and open the doors ahead of December then I guess it didn’t matter whether this post went up on the 25th December or 25th April.. still too late for you to buy. I thought it was worth reviewing all the same because Boots will no doubt do this again this Christmas and – *spoiler alert* – I will be first in line to pick that up!Here’s what was in the calender..
*Most items were miniatures but all links are to available full sized products*
The stand outs for me were the Mavala polishes (I’ve never tried those before), the Carmex (same deal) Nails Inc Porchester Square (because Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup raves about it), The Orly base coat and the Seventeen liquid liner. I’m also really happy to finally try Balmi and I’ve grown to really love the Umberto Giannini Backcomb In A Bottle so I’m very happy to have a travel size of that too. Overall I was really impressed with this calender, the perfume samples didn’t bother me because they were all new to me and even the nail file.. when you look at the full selection of products.. I’m happy. There were some really good days and some less exciting but it was great value for money and I have a whole host of new things to try that I can afford to purchase in full size and that’s what I wanted, that’s why I bought the Boots calender and that’s why I’ll buy it again next Christmas!
