Caudalie Beauty Elixir Take Two

I had this a year or so ago and I forget whether this is my second or third bottle but I can’t lie.. I didn’t buy it for it’s supposed skin care benefits, I bought it for it’s smell. I know that some use it as a toner at night but for me it’s a refreshing mist and a totally relaxing scent that make for the perfect travel partner which is why I purchased it for my recent trip across the pond. I did use it during my flight on the way there and periodically during my visit but this time around I really felt the negatives of the alcohol content that others have since complained about. Looking back I don’t think I’ve ever used this during the colder months, facial mists are something I would really only ever reach for in Summer which makes sense as to why I may not have felt quite so dehydrated by it. My skin is already more oily and so the alcohol isn’t too much but in the icy windy of New York City in January… not great.

I still love the smell but for that alone it’s pretty expensive given that it really doesn’t linger past a minute or two. I will set it aside for the warmer weather (yeah, right.. in England?) but for now I’ll be avoiding it.

I have to agree about the scent, it’s so lovely and fresh! kinda minty too 🙂

I tried this a few months ago but it just made me break out like crazy, I really tried to like it but it’s just not for me, I much prefer Lush’s Eau de Roma Water.

I like this during the summer, I can definitely see how it would be an issue during the winter! That said, I’ve never purchased one, just tried my friend’s a few times 🙂

I got this for travelling with when I went to the States last summer – it really is great in hot weather and it’s a brilliant pick me up if you have jet lag. I really can’t imagine using it in winter though – it’s definitely a summer product for me!
