The Best Beauty Gift?

IMG_8006

The best beauty gift may seem obvious to you but your dream product may be your best friends nightmare. Perfume is especially difficult to buy for someone else, a very tricky area indeed as tastes vary massively with fragrance. My friends Laura and Carolyn bought me this Chanel Coco Mademoiselle for my recent birthday and I couldn’t have been more thrilled – I’d been saving up my Boots points and now I haven’t a clue what to spend them on, ha – but they knew I liked it ahead of time, I don’t think I’ve ever received a ‘surprise’ fragrance that I actually liked now I think about it. I remember for my 21st (many moons ago 😉 ) my work colleagues all put in for a Gucci perfume that to this day I’m still trying to like and I’m fairly certain it’s been discontinued now.

Aside from scent there is a whole world of beauty to choose from which makes it really easy to get it wrong so unless she really is your BEST friend or you know your partner REALLY well (ie: picked up on all of those hints and magazine clippings she stuck to the fridge) I would stick with the best sellers.. and keep your receipt 😉

Debenhams are currently hosting a survey – link – to find out what the nations favourite beauty gifts are. If you complete the survey you will be entered in to a prize drawer to be in with a chance of winning a £250 Debenhams voucher. They’re also offering triple points on all beauty and fragrance at the moment if you have one such gift to buy.

My family know I am a beauty junkie and I usually buy my products and get them to give me the money afterwards! Might not be in the true spirit of giving but it does ensure I get what I want. That said my sister got me a little extra present at Xmas and I hated it. I didn’t let her know obviously..! Xx

I really want Chanel No 5 I keep dreaming and hoping maybe my OH might buy it me one day!! Only if we ever had enough money! So for now I settle with spraying myself when I walk past the perfume counters!!

Chanel ‘anything’ is pretty fail safe I would say! My mother-in-law bought me J’adore by Dior for about 4 years….always gift sets too! Hated it and gave them to my daughters… Prior to that it was Nina Ricci L’air du temps…hated that and again daughters gratefully received. I didn’t have the guts to speak up 🙁 For a couple of years she has bought me Lancôme mascaras and Dior make up special editions yay yay!
