Just a quick one this morning for you early risers. I blogged about 4 of the China Glaze polishes from their 2013 Christmas collection but I wanted to show you 1 or 2 of my favourites in all their glory because they’re just too cute – I think the other will be Just Be-Claws for those wondering, it’s the ultimate Christmas red. But back to the polish at hand.. Put A Bow On it was my favourite before I even put it on my nails, I LOVE a purple glitter and this micro fine variety is right up my alley. I’d say 2 or 3 coats and you can get an opaque bottle finish from this but if you’re wondering why my nails look less than perfect here.. I can explain. I sandwiched the polish between a gel base and top coat and it looked great, felt rock hard and I was feeling pretty pleased with myself until I jumped in a hot bath and warped them. The rippled you can see actually look pretty cool I think but they weren’t intentional.
I’m yet to perfect the gelly sandwich method but I will persevere if it means I can use my regular polish with a hard wearing gel system it’s worth the trial and error. The most important thing is that your colour be totally dry so a glitter or a foil formula will be best if you’re attempting it for the first time, I’ve had success with both but whatever you do don’t expose them to heat too soon or you’ll make waves you never wanted.
