Citrus Minty Skin Clearing Goodness

I don’t get very excited about shower gels usually.. I mean I had a yummy cinnamon scented one at Christmas thaat was very nice but it’s not something I love to buy because it’s just.. soap, right? Wrong! This stuff is amazing and has totally awakened a shower gel beast within. First of all it smells better than maybe anything has ever smelled (no, I am not exaggerating.. ok, maybe a bit) but it has also had a a totally unexpected benefit in that it cleared up my skin. That may sound mad if you don’t suffer from blemished anywhere but your face but I have struggled with breakouts on my back and my chest since I was a teenager and trust me, it’s not hot. As a kid I took 4 tablets a day to control it but as an adult it’s subsided to just  a little blotchy/bumpy when a flare up occurs but after using this for I’d say a week I noticed my skin was totally clear. Given that I was sent this to review I hadn’t actually seen the claims on the website ’til I sat down to write it up now and low and behold.. OS say it contains ‘natural skin healers’ to soothe irritation and blemishes. Well. I’m a very suspicious consumer and had this been advertised as a product to clear my skin I wouldn’t have expected any results but it works. That benefit aside it’s so tingly, even my husband has noted this, and fresh that it’s perfect for summer and did I mention it smells GOOOOD? My only irk is the consistency, it’s so liquidy (word?) that I feel like I’m losing a lot of product as it runs away from  me before I can put it anywhere but if you put it directly on your body or a loofah/sponge you wont have this problem so I guess.. not really a problem but. y’know.

Since the weather is heating up (shh… don’t say it out loud, it will go away) I have been loving this and I finish off my body care with another Organic Surge product, Fresh Ocean Body Lotion. I had to mention this as I’ve previously reviewed it (blog post here) but it’s currently on sale and it’s ideal for the warmer months as it absorbs super quick and it so light but still hydrating so if you were thinking about that before it’s now half price at £3.00 here

Available online here for £4.07

As a 30-something who still gets breakouts as bad as when she was a teenager (yea, yuk I know, but nothing has ever done the trick for me) reading this is like music to my ears. I’m really cynical of the claims companies make but the fact that you tried this and noticed it worked before you saw those claims means I’ve just ordered some. Thanks for sharing.

And yea, liquidy is a word, isn’t it?!

exactly! I’d rather see results when I’m not looking for them than be disappointed. And I think it’s like swatch etc.. a word we bloggers use thats not really a word lol

I just ordered the ocean fresh lotion and shower gel from Organic Surge this morning, darn it, should have added this to the basket by the sounds of things! I am a big lavender fan so I like their meadow range as well 🙂

I suffer with breakouts on my chest too. Wish I could justify spending a little more on shower gel so I could test this out!

Great post. I have been wanting to try out new shower products. I usually don’t like gels, cause like you said you feel like you waste product, but this one sounds lovely!
