Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

Clarins Instant Light 02 aBloggers have RAVED about this lip product for the longest time and I have to tell you, I was not sucked in. I just didn’t get it. There was very little colour, a milky looking gloss that yeah, okay is non-sticky but what’s so revolutionary? I was recently sent a couple of shades when I did a sponsored post for Clarins and otherwise I wouldn’t have had them to review.. I honestly couldn’t have been less interested but I’m happy to be able to share my thoughts on such a hyped up product.

Clarins Instant Light Lip 02Clarins Instant Light 02Initially my thoughts were positive.. in a vague kind of way. It’s everything I expected it to be, very comfortable to wear, very easy to apply, a natural finish etc etc. I would imagine on more, let’s say mature lips it would be more beneficial as a perfector but I don’t feel I have much to improve at this point. Honestly? at first I thought, ‘oh yeah, these are great just like everyone says’ and I have used them A LOT.. I’ve used them in place of a balm at work almost constantly since receiving them so I don’t DISLIKE them but do I think they’re anything special? Not really. The packaging and the sponge tip applicator are the biggest sellers, otherwise the product reminds me a heck of a lot of the Miners Sweet Lips which are considerably cheaper.. though not packaged quite as conveniently.

Last thing, if you DO love the formula/design of these so much you feel the need to own multiple colours, don’t bother! They’re almost identical.. there are subtle differences in colour so definitely take a moment to choose the right one for you but the difference is not enough to need several shades on the go at one time. This shade is 02 Apricot Shimmer but I prefer the slightly pinker shade, 01 Rose Shimmer.. if you want to see them all side by side I suggest checking out this post which shows that as I suspected.. very little difference once actually on the lips.

Find them online here for £18.00 each

Have you tried these? What did you think?

I like them, but agree you don’t need more than one shade, I have 2 & on my lips they look the same. I’m going to check out the miners ones, are they only online? I remember as a teenager getting miners products in store, but that was a while ago!

I hate these! I do like the applicator and style of the product but when applied on my lips it brings out all the chapped parts, and it doesn’t stay for very long. It’s definitely not worth £18 and I’m lucky I got mine for free.

From your description they sound like the L’oreal extraordinary oil things. Basically just a balmy gloss but the L’oreal ones come in more shades and are half the price.
