Cuckoo For Coconut!

I was washing my hair on Sunday (I don’t just do it once a week but the epiphany struck on that day) when my love for coconut was reignited. Last year when I was pregnant I got a bit obsessive about coconut scented products and would seek them out for that feature alone. I thought I’d gather a collection of my favourites to share with you since I just can’t get enough.

Harajuku Lovers – G £20 (stockist not found)

This is my only coconut based perfume and technically it’s Ella’s but it’s worth a mention as it’s heavily fragranced and lasts all day given that 30ml is only £20 and c’mon, you can’t hate the packaging!!

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Tropical £2.99

This has always been my favourite Batiste fragrance, it’s so strong I’ve overheard people at the other end of the office debating the origin of the coconutty scent. It smells like holidays without the suntan lotion and stickiness.. perfect!

Herbal Essences – Hello Hydration mask £4.39

First and foremost never pay full price for this because there’s always a retailer offering it for half off, shop around! Secondly the whole hello hydration range smells the same so if you’re not a hair mask person you can pick up the shampoo/conditioner and still get your hit of tropical goodness.

Body Shop Body Butter – Coconut  £12.50 (for full size)

I’m a recent convert to Body Shop body butters having loved my Soap & Glory for so long but I’m definitely seeing the appeal. This is not the best example of coconutty goodness unfortunately but I know it’s a popular one so decided to include it for those not put off by the artificial scent that it’s possible only I can smell.

Fish High Gloss Serum £4.99

This might just be the most delicious of them all and it was totally unexpected. Usually hair serums have a soapy or ‘salon’ smell but I love a nice scent wafting around me all day so I was pleasantly surprised by the wave of coconut that hit me when I first applied this. This is going to get it’s own review soon as I really love it but it needed a mention here!

What’s your scent obsession? Rose is so popular at the moment and I can’t stand it so I’m making a stand and declaring my love for all things coconutty!

maybe that’s why I don’t like it.. to me it’s artificial but I don’t like real coconut so maybe it’s the other way around!

I’ve just started using the Body Shop Hair Shine which is like a hard hair oil for using on the ends of your hair etc and it is so unbelievably “coconutty” aswell as really moisturising for my dry and damaged ends *sob*

I am totally the opposite and hate anything that even has the faintest scent of coconut. This post has still helped me though, now I know which things to avoid 🙂

when it has such a strong scent you expect it to be advertised on the bottle so it was a nice surprise!

A girl at work always uses the coconut body shop cream and I am becoming addicted after trying the Batiste in tropical. I’ve just ordered some goodies from the Body Shop, including a beautifying oil in coconut and a lip balm also in coconut.

You can get the pure coconut oil from Superdrug for about £3. It comes in a tub and is solid until you warm it up in your hands. It is honestly the best moisturiser I have ever used and lasts for ages!
