Dear Diary 07/01

Today was my first official day counting Weight Watchers points, good time for my Asda shopping to arrive, huh? I ordered plenty of good stuff for my meal plans and am looking forward to sharing my favourites with you. If you didn’t catch it already you can watch my “grocery haul” below..

I find it so much easier to avoid snacking when I’m home, today I was so busy I didn’t even manage breakfast til midday. I love these porridge pots, all about the convenience for me and it doesnt get any more convenient than “just add hot water”.

For dinner I had a makeshift pizza.. Actually make that two and a Maple Syrup Nature Valley Bar – yum! Milo was super clingy today so I didn’t get half the work done I had planned but I finally filmed my Essie collection video which will go up on Wednesday. It could quite possibly be the longest editing job I’ve ever done but hopefully it will be worth the effort. Blogging took a bit of a sideline to catching up with Pretty Little Liars on Netflix and baby snuggles.. But back to the food..

This is a staple when I’m on a healthy eating kick. Its quick, easy and best of all doesn’t feel like a light meal. I used to use regular tortilla wraps but these square-ish wraps from Warburtons are much more substantial yet the same calorie content. Including toppings this comes in at around 8 PP points which is not bad! I’ve also made my lunches for the next couple of days, tuna, bean and lettuce wraps and ham, cheese and chicken salad. Meals during work are the hardest for me, wraps and salads are my only options right now but as always any suggestions you may have to share are appreciated!

    IF you are counting points im assuming you are on a diet, however I don’t think that was the most healthy shopping. Come on there, you can do better.

    I’m not on a diet but I would still not eat some of those things (like white bread 🙁 )

    However I love Asda too, great reading though!

    Do you follow any diet blogs? I’ve just started trying to lose weight and eat better too and I can’t find any I like. I also hate searching for dieting things on the web too much because I always seem to come across ‘pro ana/mia’ site which I hate seeing!

    I’ve been on WW for a while and really like it! You really don’t ever feel deprived, and they have great books with points for if you eat out. Since I currently live in the library and eat out of Boots and Tesco it was good for me, but my resolution is to not spend money on useless food, like wraps and things. Your pizza looks so good too 🙂 Good luck! x

    I have been following WW since the birth of my daughter 6 years ago and it is a easy plan (even easier with PP). I’ve gained some pounds since moving down under so I am back on the plan. Your posts couldn’t come at a better time!
    Regarding lunches, you mentionned in a previous post that you wanted to take hot food with you. I remember seeing in Asda some Thermos type boxes for hot pasta and soups. They were sold in the lunch boxes aisles and didn’t break the bank.

    Do you ever do a point free day? I find that the easiest on weight watchers – you can eat as much as you want from certain food groups

    I’ve done WW ProPoints before and it was amazing lost 17lbs. The only thing was I went back to my old crappy ways of eating! X

    Have you ever shopped at the sheffield handsworth asda (the really big one), i work there 🙂

    Do you like nando’s? I LOVE nado’s and was always craving it when i was dieting so i came up with this meal idea which i absolutely loved and was pretty good calorie wise.

    Small grilled chicken breast with nadno’s seasoning rub, half a pack of bachelors savoury rice and a sliced grilled pepper (or a salad if you’d prefer) with nando’s sauce (i always have hot).

    I always had this when i was dieting cos it’s a really nice substantial meal, it felt kind of like a treat, even though it was healthy 🙂 I also cooked the chicken (and peppers) on my george foreman to get rid of more fat.

    Monday was my first official day back on WW too.

    Can I ask are you attending meetings or just doing it yourself? I’m doing it myself this time to save money. I know the diet inside out anyway and have all the tools I need.

    First of all I have to say that I really like your blog. But I am living in the Netherlands and I find it very strange, that you order al your food online. Does everyone in the UK do that? Because in the Netherlands everyone goes to the supermarket and to get their food. My second question is about al the instant food you eat. Again, is that normal in the UK and do you ever eat fresh vegetables?
    I really would like you to answer my questions… any ways thankyou beforehand.

      People over here shop in store too! There’s loads of fruit and veg over her, there are even cafes that only have salads!
