DIY Project – Dressing Room – Inspiration

Yesterday I showed you my dressing room project plan and today I’m sharing the online inspiration I’ve found as well as the furniture I’m planning on buying. My first port of call was a desk, they can be pricey but Ikea offer some very reasonable leg/top combinations and I happened to have some spare legs in my garage so this is the combination I’m looking at..

dressing room ideas

Linnmon Desk Top – £7 / Lerberg Trestle – £5 each / Mulig Clothes Rack – £6.50 / Snille Chair – £12

I decided to add a couple of clothing racks.. a couple because I thought she might use them and they’re dirt cheap plus I’m planning to use them either side of the desk.. I like symmetry. The chair is a good price and will ‘go’ – no other reason.

I have a nail polish rack I had made (those of you who’ve watched my older videos will remember it) that I no longer use and I think she’d like so I plan to put that in there somewhere and I saw this really cute DIY that suggested framing your shopping bags as wall art..LOVE that idea. She just bought her first expensive handbag so framing the Kate Spade shopping bag would be very cool and I also want a place for her to display said bag! Here are the pictures I’ve found while browsing the web that I would love to be able to emulate in some small way!

I might actually do the initial move and then add some details later, it’s ALL in the details after all. Or of course I may at some point realise that it isn’t actually my dressing room and give way to my friends own creative flow.. that’s unlikely though #controlfreak

I’m thinking of picking up these little additions while I’m in Ikea..

Romantisk Tray – £7 / Nyttja Frames – £6 / Smycka Flowers – £2 / Plant Pots – £4 / Regolit Lampshade £2.25

If you have any great sites that you’re inspired by leave me a link, I could lose DAYS to this stuff!

I had a large table from Ikea for my graphic design stuff, with the storage draws under, they came in very handy. Be careful with the clothes rails, I had a cheaper one and it wouldn’t hold many clothes, now I have a more expensive (From John Lewis I think) it holds so much more!

Love the idea of framing the bags from purchases!

I have that chair at uni, it’s the most uncomfortable thing in the world! It so stiff and heavy and you can’t sit properly on it for long periods of time…such as essay writing! It is pretty though and reasonably priced
