DIY Project – Dressing Room – The Reveal

I know some of you have been waiting patiently for this before/after post but I wanted to get it JUST RIGHT. You can see my initial plan post here and my inspiration post here but let’s face it we’re just in it for the final reveal pics, aren’t we?

First let’s get a reminder of the room before..

And now… for the AFTER..

The main additions were two rails and a desk from Ikea all of which came to less than £30. From there it’s accessories.. my favourite additions have to be the framed shopping bags.. LOVE! I am going to have to make some of those for myself.. so simple but very effective, I’m sure you’ll agree. I brought her my old dress form and intended to hang necklaces on it but when I saw her dress hanging out in the spare room with nowhere to be I thought I’d display it.. she actually really liked it and I imagine if I’d had a big, expensive dress I’d quite like to put it on show after the day too. My friend is very lucky, we don’t all have the luxury of this kind of space to call our own but since she does I wanted to spruce it up for her as a little extra Christmas gift. I hope you’ve enjoyed following the process and if you have any other little DIY ideas for how she can continue sprucing we’re all ears!

You can watch the before and after as well as Caz’s reaction to the room in this video..

That’s so lovely. I really like the shopping bags idea. Gives me an excuse to spend money in places with cool bags xx

    Thanks! X

Ah, what a lovely early Christmas present – a pat on the back for you! I love the displaying of the dress in particular. I’ve been looking for a desk in my bedroom for a while – I think this one is just what I’ve been looking for.
