e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Sheer

IMG_5063

Last week I reviewed the MUA eyeshadow primer and hinted that I had found the ultimate drugstore alternative for the Urban Decay Primer Potion.. well here it is! The consistency is so similar, it’s creamy yet sets dry on the lids creating a base, if you will, for your eyeshadow. I guess it’s going come down to personal preference but this is the kind of primer I like and it’s what works best for me. I really didn’t think much of it until I filmed a tutorial and skipped primer on the eye I wasn’t filming. That evening I could see a huge difference, the primed eye’s shadow was perfectly intact whereas the other was horribly creased. I had a similar epiphany when I first discovered UDPP, I didn’t think I needed primer but I wore it and at 1.30am after decorating every room in our house I discovered that while my face makeup was long gone my eyeshadow looked the same as when I applied it. This works for me in the same way for a fraction of the price.

I can’t say this is my discovery, lots of you did tell me to try this but as always with e.l.f. it’s the actual ordering online and not being able to just go and pick it up that delays the process but I’m so pleased I’ve finally tried it because I was just about ready to give up on drugstore alternatives. To be fair my UDPP lasts a really long time and value for money wise I still think it’s fantastic but if you can find something that does the same job for 10% of the price how can you justify buying it again? I know I wont be.

Available online for only £1.50 here

I love E.L.F products, and they are definitely worth every penny. I normally think you get what you pay for with make up, but think E.L.F is the odd case where this doesn’t apply!

Great review – off to purchase some primer now!

I wasn’t all that keen on this when I tried it, I found it to be too thin in consistency. Maybe it was just mine, elf has a tendency to be hit and miss with their products sometimes (for me anyway) Love the MUA primer though

So excited about this! Buying it now 🙂 I tried the UDPP at the weekend as my friend let me try it and it was good. I didn’t believe it really worked to be honest, and now I can see that it does. So glad this ELF one is a decent drugstore alternative 🙂

Hi, this is really great, for some of us get puffy eyes sometimes. I think this is worth spending for specially when you really need your look to stay longer and don’t have time to re-touch yourself. This definitely will be one on my list to buy.
