e.l.f HD Blush

I’ve spoken about my troubles with liquid/cream blush before.. difficult to blend, messy and can even remove your base layer of foundation if not applied correctly. There are very few I have enjoyed using but when they work they’re a great base for powder blush and can look very natural worn alone.

Here I’m wearing the elf HD liquid blush in Headliner alone. I used a kabuki from Sigma and stippled on the product but was initially far to liberal with it and gave myself serious babushka cheeks, you really only need the tiniest amount. Start small and add if you need to, it’s much harder to blend away when you’ve overdone in that add more product if it’s too subtle. I can’t vouch for the other shades but once this was on it was really long wearing, much more so than a regular powder blush so if you’re looking for something to add to your ‘all day makeup’ routine I’d recommend this!

I’ve tried a few methods now and have come to the conclusion that a sponge/beauty blender is the best way to apply this kind of product, it gives the most even finish and doesn’t affect the makeup you already have on so although I used a brush here I’d recommend a sponge if you have one to hand!

Can’t remember which shade but I ordered one of their hd blushes in my order during their 30% off + free p+p over the weekend. Think it was the palest shade as they all seem such strong, pigmented colours – Can’t wait to try it out

This shade is really nice! I went crazy and ordered that dark purple one in Showstopper (Yeah, I have totally fair skin ;). I really do like it, although it’s totally difficult to apply. I can work with it though, and it’s perfect when I want to play up my cheeks for that winter flushed look. Also, these apply nicely on the lips! I think it’s fun to match your lips to your cheeks. 😉
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!
