ELF Premium Essentials

I had heard about the new essentials line from ELF but whenever I looked online nothing seemed to be any different so I assumed it hadn’t lauinched yet. It would appear I was just looking in the wrong place because it is in fact available now and I had 3 of what I’d consider to be my essentials to show you.

 L-R

Flawless Eyeshadow palette in Tantilising Taupe, Essential Blush in Glow and Cover Everything Concealer in Light.

I’m always a bit on the fence as to whether or not to recommend anything from ELF purely because I have found the quality control to be poor in the past. Sometimes I buy something and it’s amazing and others something that’s been raved about is just rubbish. Putting that issue aside each of the 3 items I received were great and if the quality is consistent I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest you make a purchase.

The concealer is comparable to the Soap & Glory Kick Ass which I really like and is considerably more expensive. It’s very much a thick, creamy ‘cover everything’  base.

The blush gives a hint of colour and a gorgeous sheen without any shimmer or glitter particles (which I hate). I’ve tended to use this more over top of other blush as an added glowy highlight but it’s lovely and subtle worn alone.

The eyeshadow is the only thing I’m not sure about. As you can see from the swatches the pigment is there but it doesn’t transfer well. You need a good primer and to really pack it on but then it makes for a fantastic budget buy. It’s not going to replace my Urban Decay staples but with a good foundation the pay off is good and it stays all day.

I don’t believe it has it’s own corner of the ELF site yet but you can find the whole premium essentials range under the ‘what’s new’ tab here priced at £2.50 each

What do you have your eye on?

The new items are just under the original tabs, because some of them are re-promotes! I was thinking of getting the concealer, but I thought it might be dry because of how the packaging is, but your swatch shows it as being creamy, so I will definitely give it ago Thanks! 🙂

I love most ELF products but then haven’t tried anything high end lol. I own 2 of these eyeshadows in Golden Goddess and Smoky, and found the same as you, great primer and layering pays off 🙂

haha In my opinion eyeshadow is the only thing worth splurging on and I would always spend that money at Urban Decay! otherwise everything from the drugstore is great!

I browsed their website the other day and it was in the same section as the normal basic ELF line, what dissapointed me was that a couple of their original 1.50 products weren’t there.. and thes slightly more expensive products seemed to be in their place.. bit annoying when some of their cheaper line were products i loved but it seems i can’t find them anymore, and that their replacement is more expensive.
