Since 3 for 2 was on in Boots and there have been a few Essie shades I’ve had my eye on for a while that haven’t made it in to the bargain bins at fragrance direct I thought I’d treat myself with a new trio.. only that trio ended up a.. what’s the word for 6? This is one of them and given that I’m going to be filming an Essie collection video soon I want a photo of each swatched on my nails beforehand so you can expect to see a lot of notd posts in the next two weeks. I’m pretty much repainting my nails every night to get through them so that I can film the video on Monday.
This particular shade was one I’d seen on a blog a few weeks ago completely by accident when I was looking for something else but it caught my eye. I love duo chromes, they offer something a little special, a hint of shimmery glitteryness without being too difficult to remove. The one area of my collection I ‘need’ to expand on is blues, I was never a big fan as I thought they made my hands look a bit..dead but I think it depends on the shade. I love Beth’s Blue from Models Own so I’ve decided to branch out in to some jewel tones from the cooler end of the spectrum. Dive bar looked beautiful while it lasted but unfortunately that was only a day before it chipped. I’m not crazy hard on my nails and I hadn’t even done the washing up so I was disappointed given that I’d applied two layers of the Good To Go top coat but since I was trying to power through the remaining swatches I wasn’t too bothered.. it’s something to bear in mind however.. I think some formula’s are less chip resistant than others!
And believe it or not I bought these two at the same time. That’s right I decided they were different enough haha.. you’ll see a swatch of Trophy Wife (right) very soon so you can judge for yourself.
