For anyone that lives in the Doncaster area I would strongly recommend you getting your butt down to the Frenchgate Centre stat as our little cut price makeup store Dazzle is having a seriously awesome streak with lots of current essie polishes and treatments for a bargainous £3.99. I picked up Tart Deco and Pansy ’cause they seemed so fresh and summery and the ridge filling base coat and super fast drying ‘good to go’ top coat. I will show the colours first though ’cause I know that’s what you really want to see!
How fun are these two shades? They will definitely be my sunshine picks if we ever get any here in rainy England. My favourite of the two is definitely Pansy, which is surprising as I picked that up as an extra.. the Tart Deco was what I really wanted but as with many things I’ve bought over the years.. I love the colour I’m just not sure it’s me. Orange/coral shades don’t entirely perk up my complexion and I’m not quite as sold on this on my nails as in the bottle but it’s a beautiful shade none the less. It actually looks different in different lights… in the evening it’s fairly neon but in daylight it’s an almost pastel peach.. I prefer that. The Pansy however is always beautiful! It’s a real bubblegum barbie pink that’s missing from my collection and I already know I will get so much use from it. One of my (first world) problems is that my engagement ring has a coloured stones flanking the diamond, they’re amethysts so even the loveliest colours sometimes just don’t look right when they clash with the purple but Pansy is a blue toned pink so it compliments nicely.
Now for the top/base coats…
Good To Go is now officially my favourite top coat. It does exactly what it says on the tin, drying in super fast time and never have I managed 4 full days chip-free while washing up, bathing and doing general housework. As I type this, 5 days after application My left hand (pansy) still remains perfectly polished.. that’s incredible by my standards and makes this an absolute must have for me. I’d go as far as to say I’d be happy to pay the £8.99 it costs in Boots since it will make all of my current polishes more cost effective!!
The ridge filling base coat I haven’t actually tried yet but I thought I’d include it in this ‘haul’ as I did buy it after all. I intend to do a few tests with this and my metallic/foil finishes to see whether it really does full ridges as that’s the only time I notice them. I never use a base coat.. ever.. but whenever I use those more specialist polishes I wish I had a product like this so I am excited to hopefully review this for you very soon!
Do any of your local stores have any essie bargains? Leave them in the comments if so, we all should be sharing in the spoils!!!
