I am often contacted by brands that I feel don’t really suit my ‘budget beauty’ demographic and much as I’d love to try a £100 night cream I just cannot justify reviewing/recommending that to you guys given that there’s no way I could afford it myself. With that in mind I turn down a lot of opportunities because they just aren’t right and under normal circumstances I wouldn’t think twice about accepting anything from a designer fashion site but in this case it was a nail polish. Not just any nail polish.. an Essie nail polish! Most of you regular readers/viewers will know I have a growing obsession with Essie and the chance to sample a limited edition shade was too much to refuse. I knew it was a greige, I’d seen it online and when it arrived I thought it was perfect! It did appear was similar to another in my collection but Essie produce about 60 seemingly identical shades of pink so I thought little else of it.
The bottle arrived tied up in a cute branded bow, I took my photos and popped it in my drawer full of polish to be reviewed. It wasn’t until it was placed in my rack alongside my other Essie’s that I noticed it bore more than a passing resemblance to another I own.. but I’m going to save that mystery for another post. I am currently waiting for coat 1 of each to dry so as to really compare the 2 for you. For now I can tell you what Then & Now say about this polish..
” THEN AND NOW is proud to have its very own exclusive Essie nail colour! This grey colour looks great in any season”
So this shade is ‘exclusive’ to then and now. I’m no authority on this so I’ll present some photos for you to judge for yourselves tomorrow whether that is in fact the case but all the same it’s a beautiful shade of grey and it’s available for £10.50 on their website, exclusively.. here
